Honeydew, Johannesburg South Africa
As with most suburbs in Johannesburg, it is hard to determine exactly where Honeydew starts and ends. Honeydew is one of the older suburbs in the area, where back in the day residents were seen to be enjoying “country living” thanks to the large plots available. These days Honeydew has been developed extensively with townhouse complexes and shopping malls like the Honeydew shopping centre, and the Wild Fig Business Park. Jozi Apartments accommodation is close to the Honeydew shopping centre, in fact a mere 2,7km. And Jozi Apartments accommodation is very near by to the Wild Fig Business Park, only 6 minutes to be exact.
Honeydew is also close to Curro Aurora Private School, known as Aurora. Aurora is on the borderline of Sundowner and Honeydew and was established by Wendy Benbow- Hebbert, Judy Nicholas and Debbie Adam in 1993.
One of the most interesting and exciting facts about Honeydew is that is has been identified as the next location for a Gautrain train station. The South African government has indicated that a line will go up from Sandton to Honeydew in the next five to twenty years. While no final plans have been communicated we look forward to having the Gautrain in our neck of the woods- the Gautrain will help commuters getting to and from Honeydew and ultimately to and from Jozi Apartments. Having a Gautrain station will also increase business opportunities in the area. Which will be great for all the local businesses in Honeydew.
