Jozi Apartments is across the road from the Wilgeheuwel Hospital and offers 1, 2 and 3 bedroom self-catering apartments for your convenience. These apartments are great for family and friends looking to visit patients in these particular hospitals.
The Royal View apartments are also within 5km of several other large shopping centres.
Admission
Their admission process can be made much easier for you, if the following simple guidelines are followed.
- Medical aid patients should check with their medical aid / scheme prior to admission to obtain pre-authorisation, if deemed necessary by the medical aid / scheme.
- Patients have to present their medical aid card and identity document on admission. Persons under the age of 18 have to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Discharge
On leaving, do not forget to collect your medication and x-rays. You will be given a discharge card to hand in at the reception desk in the foyer as you leave.
Maternity
The Ward
A service is offered in the ward to register your baby: you will be notified when the certificate is ready for collection.
Birth Registrations: Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays
Baby Clinic
The sister form the baby clinic visits the ward three days a week for immunization. (Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays)
A nominal fee will be charged for BCG and polio drops.
Please do a follow up visit at her baby clinic.
Photographs
This service is available on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday at a nominal fee.
Discharge
On day of discharge please bring a car seat or carry cot to take baby home in. Please ensure that you know how to use the car seat.
Pre admissions clinic
It is very important to pay a visit to their Pre Admission Clinic 48 hours prior to admission into hospital.
The Pre-Admission Clinic is open on weekdays from 07h30 - 16h00 for all your pre-hospitalisation questions and admission requirements – Phone number 011 796 6611/6771.
- Medical aid patients should check with their medical aid / scheme prior to admission to obtain pre-authorisation, it remains the patient’s responsibility to obtain the authorization number.

The post natal ward consists of:
- Two X three bedded rooms
- Four X two bedded rooms
- Two X three bedded rooms
- Three X private rooms/with own bathroom
The private and semi private rooms are available on a “first come first serve basis”. Please keep your beautiful flowers and gifts to a minimum: you will appreciate them much more at home.
Labour Ward:
- Your labour will be progressed in the room you will deliver in.
- Pain relief will be administered according to your preference.
- Feel free to bring your birthing plan along.
- Please feel free to bring along CD player, books or games to keep you occupied.
- Facilities for water births are not available.
The Nursery
Their ward policy is “rooming-in” which means you will learn to handle your baby with confidence in different circumstances.
It encourages bonding.
You are more comfortable with breast feeding.
First night in Hospital:
All babies are taken to the nursery, as mothers are exhausted and you may not hear your baby cry.
NB: your baby will be brought to you for breastfeeding if requested by you.

Service Monitoring
In keeping with their goal to continue providing high quality care` they monitor their service to patients on an ongoing basis. On discharge patients are asked to complete a questionnaire regarding their stay at the hospital. Participation is voluntary, but this will assist the hospital management to address any problems and improve their service to you.
Tariffs
- The hospital charges patients at medical aid / medical scheme rates.
- A prepayment is required on hospitalisation, from patients not covered by medical aid or a medical scheme.
- It is recommended that private patients contact the hospital`s accounts department prior to admission to establish the estimated hospital cost.
- Patients requesting accommodation in private wards will be requested to pay the private ward rate on admission.
